Worship Associate: David Dodd

Emma’s Revolution, who will play the following week in concert at UUP, will lead a very special worship service entitled “Hope Changes Everything.” Pat Humphries (composer of “Swimming to the Other Side” and her songwriting and performing partner, Sandy O., bring their brand of heartfelt, activist music, inspired by the legacy of fellow UU Pete Seeger, to a worship setting.

Known for fearless, truth-telling lyrics and melodies you can’t resist singing, Emma’s Revolution is the award-winning activist duo of Pat Humphries & Sandy O, whose songs have been praised by Pete Seeger, covered by Holly Near and sung at justice events around the world. For nearly 25 years, Emma’s Revolution has been writing songs about critical issues and performing in concerts and demonstrations across the country. Recent notable demonstrations include No Kings (MA October and San Francisco June) and the Interfaith Vigil at Alligator Alcatraz in FL (September). Emma’s Revolution is well known to UU audiences, since their appearance with Pete Seeger at the 2005 General Assembly. Their songs, “Keep on Moving Forward”, “Swimming to the Other Side” and “Peace, Salaam, Shalom” are sung by congregations across the country and included in the “Earth and Spirit Songbook”, the UU Tapestry of Faith series, and the UU Spanish Hymnal. www.emmasrevolution.com
