16 5th St, Petaluma, CA

In 2021, UUP voted to acquire the historic church building at the corner of 5th and B St. in downtown Petaluma. Funding was provided by a major gift by a generous member of the congregation. The building was constructed in 1901, and was designed by Brainerd Jones, who was the architect of many of Petaluma’s historic buildings, both public and residential buildings. It was originally home to the Congregational Church, and subsequently housed several other congregations.

We have been working to bring the building into a condition that will serve our congregation for generations to come. A new roof, along with new paint and repairs to exterior woodwork was completed in 2022.

Plans are underway for an extensive landscaping and interior renovation plan, with a focus on making our home into an accessible, friendly and flexible space.
