Our deepest faith values tell us we must ABOLISH ICE NOW. “What Minneapolis taught me is that resisting authoritarianism requires trained, sustained resistance, grounded in truth telling and faithful witness.” 1.) Resistance must be trained. 2.) Sustained resistance requires more than one-day action. 3.) Non-cooperation is a moral strategy. Twin Cities based MARCH (Multifaith, Antiracism, Change, and Healing) is a pro-queer coalition of multiracial faith leaders in Minneapolis/St. Paul who sent a nationwide call to clergy to come to Minneapolis Jan. 22-23 and be in solidarity with the ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA CAMPAIGN. Over 700 ministers answered that call with over 200 UUs. All of us have a role to play in the resistance. You are not alone!

Join us for RevKev’s report back from his recent Pilgrimage to Transylvania! The Unitarian Church of Transylvania has over 60,000 members and is the birthplace of Unitarianism. Theologian Francis David led efforts to pass the Edict of Torda in 1568 which established Unitarianism and allowed congregants to freely elect their ministers and represented one of the the first expressions of religious freedom in Christian Europe. How can a better understanding of our Unitarian legacy guide us towards international partnerships rooted in our values of Justice, Equity, Transformation, Pluralism, Interdependence, Generosity with Love at the center!

The late civil rights activist John Lewis called us to: “Not get lost in a sea of despair and to never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” Week after week, year after year, Unitarian Universalists gather to build the Beloved Community that centers people from the margins, fosters collective liberation, and reminds us that we are not alone in our quest for life-saving liberal religion. Come and get in good trouble with me!
