“Dia de Los Muertos”
Worship Leaders: Meredith Guest and Berkley Sturgeon
Life is full of hellos and goodbyes from the first hello at birth to the final goodbye at death. In our worship commemorating Day of the Dead, we gather to look squarely into the face of what is almost surely the greatest mystery of life–death. In this ritual from our southern neighbor, we gather to acknowledge, to grieve, to honor and even to celebrate the final goodbyes that we have made in the course of our lives, short and long. Since this is an intergenerational service, children and adults are invited to bring a photo or memento of a dead loved one (including animals) to place on the altar.
