“Out of Our Heads and Into Our Bodies: Jazz and the Spirit”

Jazz comes from a wide range of sources, much as Unitarian Universalism takes many sources for its inspiration. Ragtime, field hollers, European hymns, African drumming and singing–all swirl together to create a new aft form from harsh and inhuman conditions, in what is surely an example of the triumph of the human spirit. We’ll be joined in this service by the local band, Blue Seven.
