Becoming a Compassionate Activist
Guest Speaker: Tim Nonn
Worship Associate: Jodi Boyle
As the founder of “Tents for Dafur,” Tim Nonn had been working as a national leader in the movement to end genocide in Darfur, Sudan. After years of public work creating strategies and organizing campaigns for the movement, there came a time when his path led unmistakably away from the familiar world of activism. What he thought would be a short time to reflect and form a new plan of action turned into a year-long practice of contemplative prayer out of which would emerge a new understanding of activism that springs not from ethical theory but from spiritual practice. Tim will share with us his story and the steps to becoming a Compassionate Activist.

At the end of the service we will take a moment to say goodbye to our dear friends Earl and Jane Cruser. Come and wish them well before they move to their new home in Visalia.
