Religious Education update
- Teacher recognition is Sunday June 13. Teachers will receive a gift and certificate.
- The DRE Search Committee has been formed including Jennine Lanouette, Carol West, Diana Spaulding, Jamie Twidale, Janice Hardy and Lara Abel. Jennine is chair.
- The Search Committee asked the board to come up with a long-range financial plan for the DRE position. The board drafted this statement: We are committed to meeting the requirements presented in the UUA guidelines. If we continue to grow as we have been, we will continue to proportionally increase the RE budget.
Membership/Outreach update
- KC will produce an updated directory this month.
- The next New Member Sunday will be September 12th.
- BJ reported that the Membership Committee has died. Part of the problem is it doesn't have a clear mandate from the board. BJ requested that a coffee committee be established and stated that we need a permanent storage space in the kitchen of the Women's Club. KC suggested that Greg could ask the Women's Club about that.
Worship update
- Share-the-plate for June will go to Cinnabar Theater. KC proposed that at a later date we share the plate with the Polly Hannah Klaas Performing Arts Center.
Facilities / Nuts and Bolts
- BJ suggested we start a low-key building fund.
- Naomi reported that our insurance under the UUCM policy expires June 30th. She presented two insurance companies she has researched with pros and cons. KC moved we go with Church Mutual Insurance Company for our insurance needs. Passed unanimously. Naomi will negotiate a package with them.
- David has made an agreement with the Christian Science Church for three RE rooms on Sunday mornings and an office throughout the week. We can take up residence July 5th.
All other agenda items tabled until the next meeting.
