
UUP Board of Trustees MeetingSunday, July 9, 20068:30 -- 10:00 AM at UUP Minutes prepared by Diana Spaulding Present: Karen Elliott, Nancy Blake, Gene Ellsworth, David Hathaway, Diana Spaulding, and Jean Conrad 1. Infrastructure a. Annual Calendar -- Yvonne Rochon from PCD offered to bring a "Start-Up RE" workshop (for DRE, teachers, parents, & Board) to UUP and Marlene asks which Sep. dates are best for Board. Sat. 9/27, Sun. 9/24 or Sat. 9/30 or Sun. Oct 1 are best. Board prefers not to hold workshop at Woman’s Club. Diana to report back to Marlene. 2. Facilities/Nuts and Bolts a. Jean C. report back from General Assembly in St. Louis. Nearly 5000 UU’s attended! Much info presented re marketing where we could enhance our efforts. The Purpose Driven Church is recommended reading. Visitors to church ask "do I belong/fit in here? does anyone want to know me?" Check online at uua[dot]org for many resources, workshop info., and pictures from G.A. b. Admin. Asst. position timeline. Pool of about 6 applicants. Interview and hiring panel will be Nancy, Jean, and David H., with T involved in setting up tests and interview questions. Target is to interview and hire by end of July. c. New contract is in place for Woman's Club. We will revisit the status of the storage in 90 days. David H. will calendar late September meeting with the Woman's Club board. 3. Treasurer’s Report -- Karen Last fiscal year pledges in at 93%, more may come. Early pledges for next fiscal year can be taken at members’ request. PCA membership will be renewed as an Outreach expense. Outstanding Stewardship issues: 1) cost to congregation per member for Fair Share (regional and national UU dues) is about $95 -- Diana to ask David D. to run blurb in weekly email explaining this; 2) agreed that Membership/Hospitality Cmte. responsibility to follow up with inactive members and approach regular visitors who might want to join; 3) Stewardship Cmte. is encouraged to meet and compile list of members missed by the pledge dinners for Board f/u; 4) David H. to send Karen current membership list; also might be a good idea to update official membership book with notes on resignations. 4. Liaison Updates Board Liaisons with UUP Committees are as follows:
6. T-shirts for UUP Board approved using $250 of general funds in addition to $419 retreat reserve to produce UUP t-shirts, provided that a gauge of interest is taken prior to order.
