UUP Board of Trustees Meeting

Present: Karen Elliott, Nancy Blake, Phil Boyle, Gene Ellsworth, David Hathaway, and Jean Conrad

1. Discussed the history of UUP’s use of the Womens Club building for the annual Time and Talent fundraiser. It seems that the W.C. is concerned about updating our building use contract with them, as well as providing them with a current certificate of additional insured naming the Womens Club as the additional insured. Karen will take care of getting that certificate.
2. Infrastructure: A) Board membership--David Dodd knows that we need a new member to take Marlene’s place. B) Congregational meeting June 4th--we need to form an agenda for that meeting. Next years budget needs to be ready for the May Board meeting. Board members need to contact their committee chairs re their need for money to be included in the 2006-07 budget proposal.
3. Mary Jo (from the Womens’ Club) joined our meeting. She brought a new contract for our review. We suggested that they prepare an amendment to the old contract for the 3 months until our fiscal year begins 7/1/06. We would then sign a new contract that would coincide with the UUP fiscal year. Mary Jo agreed to take our request to the W.C. board.
4. Issues/report from the Adm.Assist. --We would like to arrange an exit interview with Adee so that we can have feedback on her experience as UUP Adm. Assistant. Scheduled for April 30th at 9:00 a.m. David will ask Adee if that date/time will work for her.
5. Treasurers Report: Karen gave each of us the report year to date. We are right on track re expenses/revenue. Student guest speakers receive $150. plus $30 travel expense from Berkeley. After some discussion re the travel amount, Nancy will ask the Worship Associates to revisit the need for UUP to pay students travel expense. Update on pledge responses. Discussion re members who do not pledge. One idea is to ask non-pledging members to pay an annual amount equal to the cost (to UUP) of their membership.
