In attendance this month were board members Greg Davis, Naomi Davis, David Dodd and Norb Gallery. David chaired the meeting. Also in attendance were Adee Swanson, Stacey Meinzen, Terilynn Pennisi, Mollie Twidale and Sharon Wikoff.
Minutes of the January 31 meeting were approved without change.
Agenda Construction: Several additions were made to the agenda, all are included below.
Correspondence: The Women’s Club sent a new lease, it will be signed and returned.
- Facilities, Nuts & Bolts.
- Adee and Sharon will finalize the setup of the office.
- Marlene and Laura will be attending District Assembly.
- II. Speaker Series: A number of tasks were volunteered for or assigned.
- Adee will coordinate mail pickup while she is on vacation.
- Norb will check on the cost of renting better loudspeakers for the events.
- Terilynn will count chairs to ensure that we have enough or determine how many will need to be rented.
- Greg will check with Deaf Dog for coffee donation.
- Stacey will check with Petaluma Coffee Company for donation.
- Mollie will organize onsite ticket sales.
- Adee and Stacey will design and produce tickets and publicity materials.
- Still need volunteers for setup and teardown.
- Committee Plenary for April:
- Is held once a year in place or a regular board meeting.
- Members of the board and at least one member from each committee.
- Goal to have board members serve on every committee to help communication.
- Will be held on April 11 at Mollie's home.
- Normal board business will be handled in a combined meeting with Stewardship on April 19.
- Nomination Process for Board Member for Jennine s term:
- Still nobody identified to fill the partial term.
- One possible candidate for one of the upcoming full terms.
- Religious Education Update.Sharon requested additional monies.
- Curriculum Books, board directs to order from existing budget.
- Training teachers for OWL. David will pay his own way, 2 additional teachers to be paid from Travel and Conference budget.
- Environmental Ministry: Stacey
- Coordinated an event on plastic in the ocean.
- Goal to reduce waste at Sunday services.
- Work with other groups in the community including the annual river cleanup.
- Membership Update:
- Stacey is assigning responsibility each week for Bagels and Coffee.
- Celesete will coordinate the Caring outreach. Sending cards to members in need.
- Adee is working on a booklet describing the organization.
- Next ingathering is April 17.
- Treasurer’s Report. Naomi detailed current status of expenses and income. No big surprises.
- 2005 Pledge Campaign Report: Mollie
- Each committee will do a presentation capped at 2 minutes about what they do and have done the previous year.
- Members will then pledge each other.
- Those not present will be approached by stewardship before May 3.
- Planning for Annual Meeting:
- The Annual Meeting will be May 22.
- Additional discussion tabled until the April meeting.
- XI. Worship Update: No Report other than they're doing great.
